The 92NY Lipschultz Parenting Center

Our Mission

These programs provide a gentle separation experience for two year-olds, helping them (and you) navigate the transition to spending time apart. Children gain confidence and independence in an environment where social and emotional learning flourishes. Our expert faculty and play-based learning approach help to lay a solid foundation for a lifetime love of learning. The small class size and high teacher-to-student ratio allows us to adapt the program to the interests and developmental stages of the toddlers in each group. We provide a balance of structure and flexibility in a warm, supportive environment that encourages the children to explore, experiment and take risks. Outdoor play on 92NY’s Nursery School play spaces is an integral part of their everyday experience.

These classes are offered in person.

Sample day

  • Arrival - Children put their own belongings away, fostering a sense of independence and self-care as they proudly join their classmates for the day.
  • Morning meeting - Children participate in a friendly discussion that promotes language development and social awareness as the group sings the welcome song, reviews the day’s schedule and checks to see who is in class each day.
  • Free play - Children choose what they want to play with from various materials and toys. Play is both open-ended and structured and the children have the opportunity to play in their own unique way.
  • Clean up - The group works as a team to put toys away and clean-up, together taking pride and responsibility for our classroom.
  • Snack - Each day we enjoy this social time to try new foods, talk with our friends and share stories together.
  • Outdoor Play - Build, bike and play all year long on our amazing rooftop playground.
  • Storytime - Enjoy classics and new books together.
  • Group Activity - Our activities follow and support the interests and passions of our group through art, music, cooking, sensory and science.
  • Goodbye Birdie Song - Each day ends with special rituals: singing our song and saying goodbye.
