92NY Afterschool

Afterschool

92NY’s Afterschool Program provides fun and structured childcare, 1-5 days a week, for kids in grades K-5.

Afterschool combines free play (which we call Afterschool Clubhouse), homework help and enrichment activities that boost self-confidence and allow children to navigate group environments and build social skills. Clubhouse fee: $560.

Enrichment activities include fine arts, jewelry, ceramics, team sports, swimming, gymnastics, dance, music (including private lessons), theater and so much more! Please note that there is an additional fee associated with our enrichment activities.

We also offer school pick-up for kids from select schools for an additional fee (schools listed below).

About 92NY Afterschool

What is Afterschool Clubhouse

All Afterschool kids will participate in Afterschool Clubhouse, which is a fun space where children can socialize, play, and be creative with their peers. Games and snacks will be provided. Children will be placed into clubhouses based on their age.

How will my child get to Afterschool?

92NY’s Afterschool program provides transportation via school bus, van and walking services (depending on the distance from 92NY) for an additional fee.

If you elect for school pick-up, our staff will pick your child up at their school’s ending time and walk them to 92NY. Children must be picked up by their parent or guardian by 6 pm from 92NY.

What are Enrichment classes and how do I choose them?

We think it’s so important for kids to take advantage of opportunities for social and emotional growth throughout our program areas. Our enrichment classes are led by the most inspiring and creative teachers in a variety of subject areas.

Please note that enrichment classes are provided at an additional fee. If your child is registered for 4-5 days a week of Afterschool, we require them to be registered for a minimum of three enrichment classes in order to get the most from our program. If you need help selecting your child’s classes, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help you decide.

If you have signed your child up for an enrichment class independent of 92NY Afterschool, your child will not automatically be enrolled in Afterschool. If you would like to enroll in Afterschool in addition to the enrichment class you have already selected, please contact us.

*Some classes may require an audition. Private music lessons may be scheduled.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available and we welcome you to apply using this application. Please complete your online Afterschool registration form before submitting your scholarship application so we know how many days and which classes you are selecting. Director of Children’s Enrichment and Engagement

Lauren is a long time camp enthusiast. Lauren grew up as a camper, counselor and division head at Pinemere Camp, a JCC sleep away camp in the Poconos. After graduating from The University of Maryland with a Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education in 2002 and a Masters of Education in Adolescent Development in 2005, Lauren worked as an educator in both Maryland and New York City. Lauren has brought her passion and dedication to 92Y Camps for the past 17 summers. In this full-time role, Lauren constantly strives to give campers and staff meaningful and positive experiences at summer camp. Lauren has served on the Tri-State Program Planning Committee for the American Camping Association. When not planning amazing summer programs, Lauren spends her free time with her husband, two sons and dogs, Max & Tess.

Director of After School and Associate Director of Children’s Enrichment and Engagement

Orlee joined the 92Y Camps team 14 years ago as a Head Counselor in Camp Yomi and grew professionally — helping to begin Unit K as the first Unit K Supervisor, and more recently as the Assistant Director and Director of Yomi Seniors. She spent a decade teaching in nursery schools on the Upper East and West Sides, while spending her summers in camp. Orlee has her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Yeshiva University, and has a Masters in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Bank Street. She joined the full time camps team in 2017. Currently, in her role as Director of After-School and Associate, Director of Children’s Enrichment and Engagement, she strives to create community and a space for all children to be successful.

Corey is no stranger to the 92NY community since beginning at age 5 as a Camp Yomi camper continuing with 92NY Camps through age 14 as a Trailblazers camper. Corey transitioned from being a camper to staff member, beginning as a Program Aide, growing into a Counselor, Head Counselor and Unit Supervisor. During the school year, Corey worked as an Afterschool counselor and more recently a Clubhouse Supervisor. Excited to continue his professional growth, Corey became the Afterschool Program Associate in February 2023. Corey brings passion, energy, plus fun and is not shy or afraid to bring his all. In his free time, Corey loves going to the gym and working out, and spending time with his family.
