Swim laps in our 25-yard Indoor Pool

One of the finest indoor swimming facilities in New York City, our Upper East Side pool is the first commercial indoor pool in New York State to be primarily disinfected by ozone. Our swimming pool allows us to feature a robust acquatics program for both recreational and lap swim as well as swimming lessons for adults and kids. 

92Y's aquatics program includes swim classes for adults and children, a competitve swim team, water exercise classes, lifeguard training and more in our indoor 25-yard ozone-purified pool.

  We offer adult swim classes and private lessons for swimmers of all levels, water exercise classes, lifeguard training, member lap swim and family open swim.

• Kids Aquatics

  Children as young as six months have a positive first experience in the pool with our infant and preschool classes. Older children can learn to swim and improve technique in our kids' swim classes, or join our Flying Dolphins Swim Team.

The Pool

The ozone system of purification was chosen to supplement chlorine because of its extraordinary ability to effectively purify water without side effects. Ozone purifies water and air very quickly and efficiently, 3,000 times faster than chlorine. Just as nature uses ozone to protect the earth, we can use ozone to protect ourselves from microorganisms in the pool. The result is crystal clear, purified water.

The pool's depth ranges from 3½-8 feet and water temperature is maintained at 82-84 degrees. American Red Cross-certified lifeguards monitor pool activity at all times.

Pool access lift available for those needing special assistance. 

Play Basketball and Team Sports in Our Gymnasia

Our fitness facilities feature state-of-the-art flooring in the Lane and Mack Gym for indoor sports and leagues in basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. 

Lane Gym

Shoot hoops on our state-of-the-art flooring. Whether you want to play competitively in one of our intramural leagues, or take part in a leisure game of pick-up, we have it all. Children can also learn the fundamentals of basketball through our classes and leagues.

Mack Gym

Challenge yourself with a great variety of fitness classes in our Mack Gym. Relentless, Break-thru Fitness, Cardio Kickboxing and much more!

Gymnasium Rentals

The gymnasiums, 25-yard pool and locker facilities are available for private rental for adult and youth parties, commercial photo and film location shoots and group events. Our gyms are ideal for physical education and sports classes. For information call 212.415.5700.

Fully Equipped Locker Rooms and Other Facilities

Our facilities also include: locker rooms (separate for men, women and families) and a Pro Shop.

Locker Room

The May Center has separate locker rooms for men, women, boys and girls, as well as a family changing and shower area. Each area is spacious and equipped with shower amenities. The adult locker rooms offer sauna and steam rooms.Members and guests are encouraged to bring a lock to secure belongings in one of the daily lockers. All locks and belongings must be removed at the end of each visit. Locks are available for purchase at our Pro Shop. Overnight storage rentals are also available to May Center members. Pro Shop

Located in the third floor May Center Lobby, the Pro Shop offers a variety of sports apparel, aquatics gear and fitness equipment for purchase. Customers can select from an assortment of brand name merchandise including Nike®, Speedo®, Schwinn® and Aqua Gear®. Exercise videotapes, dyna-bands, heart rate monitors, goggles, swim caps (required for pool use) and Master 2000 locks (recommended for daily use lockers) are just some of the items available.
