Eliot Fisk & Paco Peña: Guitar Talks with Benjamin Verdery

Apr 24, 2014

Eliot Fisk and Paco Peña join Benjamin Verdery for a pre-concert lecture.

Guitarists Eliot Fisk and & Paco Peña make their second 92Y appearance as a duo in a program of flamenco music and their own transcriptions. In this pre-concert interview with Benjamin Verdery, they discuss the loss of the legendary flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucia, who had died two months earlier. They examine the relationship between flamenco and classical music: its common ground and the influence each has had on the other. They also describe the differences between the flamenco and classical guitars.

This talk is part of our Guitar Talks with Benjamin Verdery series.
